Anointing The Sick The River were hyped as the next big thing in doom a few years ago, but never quite scaled the heights predicted. I bought 'Drawing Down the Sun' but it didn't move me too much. Maybe because I became heavily into Funeral doom, or maybe I was narrow minded about female vocals. The album popped up on my iPod and I found myself being prompted to try their Bandcamp page, hence this purchase. It's slightly different from previous releases largely due to the absence of Vicky on vocals. Post- Doom ??

stroszek, c'est selon c. lui-même "de la musique de vieux pour les vieux" et sound graveyard bound ne le démentira mas. ce troisième album croise néo-folk avec le rock et a plus de chair que les deux autres : la guitare électrique s'affirme et des solos sont à profusion. malgré tout, la chair est frappé par ce naufrage qu'est la vieillesse et le moindre mouvement fait mal. c. est vivant, on l'entend respirer et déglutir, mais son chant se propage en échos, comme s'il avait un pied dans la tombe.
