Sonny92 With rumbling riffs that sound like a foot-to-the-floor 1970 Mustang Mach 1 and kinda-folky-sounding female vocals, courtesy of singer Vicky Walters, The River are a doom band of complementary contrasts that successfully create a wonderfully melancholic atmosphere. Not dissimilar to one of my all-time faves, Windhand, this band may well be the greatest thing to ever come out of Croyden. Favorite track: Inside The Flood Diary.

about

The clouds are beginning to clear at last. The sky moves quickly at this time of year and they drift apart with little resistance. Sleepy eyes and sleepy minds wake with the birdsong lost for so long. The fallen leaves travel downstream, disturbing the sun’s reflection as they send a kaleidescope of colour across the water’s surface. Shadows form and dance as the light grows ever more and spirits lift to bask in the welcome glow. A gentle breeze compliments the growing warmth from drawing down the sun...
